How to Make Chicken Manchurian (Better Than Takeout!)

Ingredients:

  • Boneless, bite-sized chicken pieces
  • Ginger-garlic paste (freshly made)
  • Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Egg
  • Cornstarch
  • Cooking oil
  • Chopped carrots
  • Chopped capsicum (bell pepper)
  • Chopped onion
  • Chili flakes (optional)
  • Sugar
  • Soy sauce
  • Chili sauce
  • Ketchup

Instructions:

  1. Marinate chicken with ginger-garlic paste, vinegar, salt, black pepper, egg, and cornstarch.
  2. Fry chicken pieces in low to medium heat oil until golden brown.
  3. In a separate pan, heat oil and saute ginger-garlic paste until fragrant.
  4. Add carrots, capsicum, and onion. Cook until slightly softened.
  5. Add spices: salt, chili flakes (optional), black pepper, and sugar. Cook briefly.
  6. Add vinegar, soy sauce, chili sauce, and ketchup. Simmer for a few minutes.
  7. Thicken the sauce with cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with water) if desired.
  8. Add fried chicken pieces and mix gently.
  9. Serve hot with egg fried rice (optional).

Tips:

  • Don't overcrowd the pan when frying chicken to ensure even cooking.
  • Adjust the amount of chili sauce for your desired spice level.
  • You can substitute chicken mince for the chicken pieces.
  • Sesame seeds can be added for garnish (optional).
